Hageman Collection

The Hageman Collection consists of photographs, letters, and documents left to Lorain Public Library along with a Trust at the death of Kathrine Hageman in 1969. The Hageman family was a wealthy well established family in Lorain as far back as the late 19th century. Katherine's father, Hermin Edward Hageman, was co-founder of the Lorain County Radio Corporation. Katherine was well educated and established a research library which she donated to Lorain Public Library upon her death. The Hageman Collection is one linear foot of photographs, letters, and other family paper artifacts such as certificates. Not all of the photos are identified. Many of the personal letters are written in German in cursive and difficult to read. The collection is kept at the Lorain Public Library Main Branch in the Archive.
