An aerial view of downtown Lorain, Ohio and the Black River looking east from West Erie Avenue. The shipyards can be seen at the right of the photograph, south of the high-level (bascule) bridge. Lake Erie is at the left of the photograph. The Coast Guard station is at the middle left of the photograph, north of the bridge. Broadway Avenue to about 4th Street is in the lower half of the photograph. A barge can be seen passing under the bridge in the center of the photograph. The date of the photograph is likely from the mid-1930s. The photographer is unknown.
