The Tivoli Theater was a movie theater located at 640 - 642 Broadway Avenue. Opened in about 1915 as the Pantheon Theater, the theater originally operated as a burlesque theater. In 1923, the Tender family purchased the Pantheon Theater and converted it to a theater showing first-run films. The Tivoli Theater continued to show films until it closed in 1977.
The photographs seen here were likely taken shortly before the demolition of the Tivoli in 1983 as part of a downtown redevelopment project. The photographer is unknown.
