Lorain City Hall, circa 1974
A partial view of the new Lorain City Hall building, circa 1974.
The building was dedicated on December 16, 1973, after a planning process begun in the mid-1960s. It is located on the same site as the previous Lorain City Hall.
The original City Hall was in the former Wagner Building, which was located where the Ariel Broadway Hotel building is now, at the southeast corner of Broadway Avenue and Erie Avenue. Lorain City Hall was moved to the Stang home in 1924, located on the same site as the new City Hall building. The Stang home was demolished during the construction of the new building.
The photograph appears to date from 1974. The photographer is unknown.
