A partial view of the current Lorain City Hall building circa 1974.
Lorain City Hall was originally located in the former Wagner Building, across West Erie Avenue from its current location. When the Wagner Building was destroyed in the July 1928 tornado, City Hall offices were moved into a residential home known as the Stang house.
Planning for the current City Hall building began in 1964, but for various reasons, construction did not begin until the early 1970s. The new Lorain City Hall was dedicated on December 16, 1973.
