Carl Nielsen, Sr. and his father Walter G. Nielsen stand behind the jewelry counter of their family business, Nielsen Jewelers, in Lorain, Ohio. Founded in 1877 by Carl Peder Nielsen, Nielsen Jewelers is the oldest business in the city.

The photo was supplied by the family to the Lorain Journal for a 2002 article. It was then dated as being from the 1950s.

The photographer is not known.
